Smirnoff basks in ‘Best New Product Launch’

Diageo Venture Americas and Caribbean (VAC), recently named the launch of Smirnoff Ice in Trinidad as the Best New Product Launch for 2003. This award was presented to Chairman of Carib Brewery Limited, A Norman Sabga, at the Venture Americas and Caribbean Partnership Awards in Venice, Italy. Sabga expressed his satisfaction with the launch, saying that Carib Brewery saw the award as a sign of great things to come. Virginia Clarke, Brewing Director at Carib Brewery, was  excited at the idea of Carib Brewery winning such a  prestigious recognition, and David Welch, Carib’s Marketing Manager, took the opportunity to praise the efforts of the sales and distribution staff for their role in bringing such an honour to the Brewery. Smirnoff Ice is produced and distributed by Carib Brewery Limited in Trinidad, under licence from Diageo. The vodka-based ready-to-drink beverage was launched in May of this year, and is packaged in 275ml bottles with 5.5% alcohol by volume.
