Judge grants brother of Miss TT $120,000 bail
RICHARD ALIBOCuS, brother of reigning Miss Trinidad and Tobago Faye Alibocus, who is charged with trafficking $20 million in marijuana, was granted $120,000 bail with a surety by a judge in chambers yesterday, after being in custody at Remand Yard for the past 11 days.
Bail was granted by Justice Herbert Volney at the San Fernando High Court when Alibocus’ attorney Brian Dabideen brought the application. Alibocus, 29, is jointly charged with Venezuelan national Erasmo Vidale Malave Cova, after they were arrested on September 15 by mobile patrol police who allegedly found 26 grammes of marijuana in Alibocus’ car, and then 287 kilogrammes of marijuana at Alibocus’ Green Acres, San Fernando home. In two appearances at the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court on September 17, then on Thursday, Magistrate Sonia Aleong denied bail to both accused men. Alibocus’ case was adjourned to October 6.
