Tobago MP complains of disrespect from THA
Tobago East MP, Eudine Job-Davis, has stated that the time has come to define the relationship between the Tobago Members of Parliament and the Tobago House of Assembly.
Job-Davis, who has complained that she, as the Member of Parliament, was being disrespected and ignored by the THA, stressed that the time had come for “inclusion.” “Members of Parliament (of the Tobago constituencies) must have a say in how Tobago is developed,” Job-Davis, who is a backbencher, stressed. The PNM controls the THA and Job-Davis is PNM Member of Parliament. Saying that she did not want to “personalise” the matter, Job-Davis said there was no problem between herself and the THA. Saying that any Member of Parliament should be able to service his/her constituency, Job-Davis stated: “There must be some way that the THA and any member of Parliament (of the Tobago constituencies) no matter what his or her political persuasion, can sit and meaningfully discuss how Tobago is going to move forward. And it has to be institutionalised,” she said.
