The Presidential Pardon

TO: ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME
WHEREAS PATRICK JAGESSAR was convicted at the High Court of Justice Port-of-Spain on May 10, 1988 of the following offence:
That the said Patrick Jagessar on December 22, 1986 corruptly received for himself a Toyota ‘Royal Saloon’ Motor Car, as a gift or reward for dismissing criminal charges against one Mr Bhola Nandlal, an accused person, contrary to Section 3(1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act Chapter 11:11 for which he was sentenced to two (2) years hard labour and whereas by Section 87, sub-section (2)(a) of the said Constitution of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the President may grant to any person convicted of any offence against the laws of Trinidad and Tobago a pardon either free or subject to lawful conditions, now therefore, I Arthur N R Robinson, President as aforesaid in exercise of the power vested in me by Section 87(2A) of the said Constitution of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and in accordance with the advice of the Minister do hereby grant unto the said Patrick Jagessar a free and unconditional pardon in respect of the said offence.
And by these presents I hereby command all judges, magistrates and others whom it may concern that they take due notice and for so doing this shall be sufficient warrant given under my hand and the seal of the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago at the Office of the President, St Ann’s, 13th May 2002.
