Sugar Aloes’ son on firearms charge

The son of calypsonian Michael “Sugar Aloes” Osuna  was yesterday denied bail when he appeared before Magistrate Ejenny Espinet at the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ First Court faced with  multiple charges. Imo Osuna, 23, of East Dry River, Upper Laventille, appeared before Espinet charged with setting fire to a dwelling house while it was occupied by a woman, possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and shooting at Julie Hacket, Nigel Hacket, Toya Hacket and Akeim Samuel with the intent to do grievous bodily harm. The violations all took place at Quarry Street, Port-of-Spain on August 20. Osuna was arrested and charged on Friday by Acting Insp Sahadeo Singh of the Besson Street CID. He was remanded into custody pending tracing and will re-appear in court today. Osuna was represented by attorney Theodore Guerra, who was not present in court.
