Aloes Jnr granted $200,000 bail
A PORT-OF-SPAIN magistrate yesterday granted bail in the sum of $200,000 to the son of calypsonian Michael Osuna, also known as “Sugar Aloes” when he appeared in the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ First Court. Imo Osuna of East Dry River, Upper Laventille, was granted bail by Magistrate Ejenny Espinet. The sum, to be approved by a Clerk of the Peace, will cover all charges.
The 23 year-old man was charged on Friday with arson, possession of arms and ammunition, and shooting at four persons with the intent to do grievous bodily harm. The charges were laid by Acting Insp Sahadeo Singh of the Besson Street CID. Osuna, who was represented by attorney Theodore Guerra, was remanded in custody until the results of his tracing were made available. He had indicated in court on Tuesday that he had one matter pending but no previous convictions. The matter was adjourned to October 16.
