Noise nuisance in Curepe

THE EDITOR: I will like to complain about the high noise level at nights in Curepe.  These noises emanate from loud bass speakers blasted from pubs, bars and casinos in the Curepe area.  The noises can be heard for a half mile and disturb thousands of taxpayers.  And this is all done within walking distance from the St Joseph Police Station.  The speakers are blasted every night (for nine hours) from 8 pm to 5 am. Maybe the Acting Commissioner of Police Snaggs, the Minister of National Security and the EMA should pay a suprise visit to this area at night. If the taxpayer-paid Police do not protect the citizens then we are all doomed to crime. Again, why are magistrates at the Tunapuna Court approving these loud noisy business places within hearing distance of sleeping residents?  These should only be approved for sound proof business places.
