Man held with ‘ganja’ in Moruga
A 32-YEAR-OLD Morvant man was arrested after a bag containing four kilogrammes of marijuana was discovered in a car at Moruga on Wednesday night. Investiga-tors are searching for two other suspects who fled from the car after they spotted the police officers. The suspect, of Angelina Terrace, was expected to be charged yesterday and taken before a Princes Town magistrate. According to police reports, around 11 pm, Cpl Alpheus and PC Friday of the Moruga Police Station were on mobile patrol duty at Fifth Company Village, Moruga, when they saw three occupants of a car acting suspiciously.
Reports stated that when the police came to a stop, two occupants of the white B13 Sentra jumped out and ran into some nearby bushes and escaped. The policemen approached the car and ordered the 32-year-old suspect out of the vehicle. They searched the vehicle and found a large quantity of marijuana in a bag in the car. Moruga Police are investigating.
