No charges yet in killing of boy, 14
UP to late yesterday, the man who was arrested by police in a sting operation had not been charged, police sources told Newsday.
The 24-year-old Barataria man was held in a sting operation on Wednesday night on Independence Square, Port-of-Spain. The operation was led by Sgt Nandram Moonilal and included Cpls Andrew Charles and Angatiah, PCs Powder, Barrow and Grant. It was spearheaded by Western Division head, Sr Supt Stephen Quashie. The man, who has reportedly confessed to killing 14-year-old Maurice Mota, was supposed to be placed on identification parades yesterday before Western Division officers meet with Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Geoffrey Henderson. Sgt Moonilal is conducting investigations.
