Dispute leads to gun shots

AN argument between a 54-year-old father and a young man over the middle-aged man’s daughter, led to several gun shots being fired at Ibis Drive, Pleasantville, San Fernando, on Friday night. Police said no one was injured. Reports are that at around 8 pm a blue 323 Mazda motorcar pulled up in front a house at Ibis Drive and the driver alighted from the vehicle and  began to call out the occupants of the house. According to reports lodged at the Mon Repos Police Station, when the father emerged from his living room and stood in his gallery, the driver began hurling obscene abuses at him. Police said that an argument erupted between the two over the middle-aged man’s daughter.

Police said that the driver of the car whipped out a revolver and fired four rounds at the house. Luckily, police said, no one was hurt. Police responded to a telephone call and Cpl Williams led a team of policemen to the scene. Police said, the driver was arrested and taken to the Mon Repos Police Station. Charges of indiscriminate discharging of a firearm and threats against the person, were expected to be lodged against him yesterday.
