Two die, three wounded in road accidents
TWO PEOPLE were killed and three others hospitalized in separate road accidents across the country. In the first incident Ishmael Ali of Queen St. Aranguez was struck by a car while crossing the Eastern Main Road under the flyover in Port-of-Spain. He was killed instantly. Reports indicate that Ali attempted to cross to the northern lane of the highway, but was struck by a private car heading west. He landed on the windscreen of the car and died on the spot.
A second accident claimed the life of Herman George of Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande. George died after losing control of his vehicle, while driving west along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in the vicinity of Santa Rosa Heights. The accident occurred around 3 am yesterday morning. George was an employee of Cool Aire Limited. In a separate accident three people were hospitalized following an accident along the Highway, in the vicinity of the big tree at Four Roads, Diego Martin late yesterday afternoon. Up the press time the victims of the Diego Martin accident remained unidentified.
