Man shot in Laventille
A Laventille man is warded at the Port-of- Spain General Hospital after he was shot several times on Thursday night near his home.
According to police reports, 48-year-old Garnet Jackson of Picton Road., Laventille, was standing near the Picton water tanks at about 10:45 pm, when a man he knew, walked up to him and shot him several times. The man fled the scene, while Johnson, who was shot in the arms and legs, was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where an emergency operation was performed. Checks with hospital officials up to presstime revealed Jackson was in a critical condition. Police reports indicate that Johnson and his attacker were known to have had several disputes in the past. Investigating offficers of the incident are calling on residents or persons witnessing the shooting, to come foward to assist in identifying the shooter. Constable Brown of the Besson Street police station is continuing investigations.
