Problems of next-door school

THE EDITOR: I live next to a primary school. I will like to complain about the following school issues:

• The noisy school air condition is left on at nights and disturbs all residents around the school. The air condition should be repaired and also be shut down at nights.
• The school noisy pump keeps kicking in at all times of the night. This is due to leaking taps in the school. The pump should be repaired and also be shut down at nights.
• Unsupervised students are allowed to blast the residents with pan and other training music at any arbitrary day and time.
This must be regulated by the music teacher in the school and neighbours should be pre-warned of the practice schedule.
• Students are always climbing over into private property during school times to steal fruits and other items from residents. This must not be allowed to continue.
• Students throw garbage, bottles and stones on residents’ roof and private premises. The principal must be held responsible for the action of his students while they are on school premises and under his jurisdiction and control. I call on the Minister of Education Ms Hazel Manning to have Principals look into these for their own schools. We must not allow our children to be trained on these initial “crime” activities. They start on small crime and then proceed on to the bigger crime after they leave school. Act now before it’s too late.
