I did not write that letter

DEAR EDITOR: Over the last two weeks I have been confronted by several prominent persons in the Trinidadian community about an article that was published on Saturday October 4 in the Trinidad Newsday entitled “TT tourism promotion laughing stock in Canada” and which was signed as one George Maharaj of Pickering. I located this article only last night. I would like to state categorically that I did not send that letter or any other to any newspaper and probably there is another person by the same name living in Pickering.

I, however, live in Markham. The article states that the writer migrated to Canada over ten years ago. Well, I have been here for over thirty years. Furthermore, I do not know about the “Dr Cudjoe” who is mentioned in the letter nor do I really care about how the TT Consulate, High Commissioner’s Office, BWIA or TIDCO are being operated. As far as I am concerned the people who are placed in these positions are doing a satisfactory job. If this is an attempt to discredit me in any way by any TT organisations please note that it did not and will not work.
