Four in hospital after car plunges into ravine

Four people  are now hospitalised after the driver of the car in which they were travelling lost control of the  vehicle which slid 20 feet downwards into a ravine.

According to reports around 5.30 am on Sunday Jamey Law-rence, 24, was driving a B-14 Sentra motor car along  St Clyne Road, Santa Flora. The car was also occupied by 26-year-old Anton Bacchus, 20-year-old Kerri-Ann Joseph and Alvares John, 23. While driving Law-rence lost control of the car which broke through the barrier at the road side and plunged some 20 feet below into a ravine. A team of officers from the Siparia Fire station headed by Fire Sub Officer Dennis Asson arrived on the scene. The officers assisted the victims out of the damaged car. Anton Bacchus suffered a broken leg and injuries to his hip. The other occupants  sustained cuts, bruises and abrasions. Cpl Mc Donald and PC Seeratan of the Santa Flora police station visited the scene. All  four accident  victims were taken to the San Fernando General Hospital by EHS  ambulances. PC Seeratan of the Santa Flora police is continuing inquiries.
