Woman chops husband

A 50-YEAR-old woman is expected to be charged with attempted murder after allegedly chopping her common-law husband early yesterday morning.

Preliminary reports indicate the incident occurred during a domestic dispute between the couple, which the woman’s teenaged son witnessed. The female suspect contacted police authorities by telephone and informed them that her common-law husband had been chopped at their house at Gowers Well Road, Fyzabad. The man, whose nickname is “Shine” was chopped twice on his head, and once on his right hand. He is warded in serious condition at the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH). Police said that around 4 am the common-law couple were engaged in a fight. The dispute escalated when the woman picked up a weapon and dealt her husband three chops to his body. Detectives interviewed the victim from his hospital bed, and lawmen were said to be searching for the woman yesterday evening. Fyzabad police are continuing inquiries.
