Woman shot in Laventille

A Laventille woman was shot while standing outside her home on Saturday night.

According to police reports, 39-year-old Gwendolyn Series of Block 22 Laventille, was standing just outside her home talking to an off duty police officer when an armed man ran up to them, demanding money. Before Series and the police officer could hand over anything to the armed man, the attacker fired several shots at the two. One of the bullets struck Series in the neck. The man escaped on foot, while the off duty officer, who is attached to the St Clair Police station, rushed the injured woman to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, where she is warded in a satisfactory condition. Constable Charles of the Besson Street police station is conducting investigations.
