Handyman killed by single stab wound

An autopsy carried out on the body of Chaguanas handyman Christopher Pierre revealed that death was due to a single stab wound to the left side of the chest.

The autopsy was carried out by Dr Hugh-von Des Vignes. Pierre, 46, was stab-bed to death on Friday night while on his way to view lighted deyas close to his New Settlement, Caroni Sa-vannah Road home. A suspect who was detained by police was released over the weekend. Investigators believe that Pierre was stabbed following a heated argument with a group of men. His body was dragged to a gravel heap and dumped. Around 8 am on Saturday, Pierre’s body was discovered by one of his neighbours. A party of officers led by Sgt Dennis Housend and including Ag Sgt Ajith Persad carried out enquiries and investigations are continuing.
