Commissiong boys win in youth cycling

The fourth leg of the Youth Cycling Series at Skinner Park, San Fernando on Saturday saw Southhampton Cycling Club take five of the 12 events going into leg five this Saturday.

South Hampton’s Anzinga and Trevor Commissiong each won two races. The latter was first in the Girls BMX 7-9 one and two-lap races while the former was first in the Boys 10-12 BMX Category. Willie Patterson took the BMX “B” Class two-lap race to cap off a good day for the club. The closest challenge to Southhampton came from the Arima Bike Club led by Sei Daniel who was first in the Boys 4-6 BMX Class, and was supported by Quincy Alexander with a win in the Boys 7-9 BMX two-lap event.

Kwesi Browne won the Boys 7-9 BMX two-lap race. Shannon Metevairre took the lone Toyota Madonna first place in the five-lap Open Race leaving Marc Codrington and Kester Duncan of PL Singh Sonics in second and third respectively. Sonics had 10 racers in the top flight with three first places. Taija Frontin was first in the Girls 10-12 BMX one and two-lap races and Barry Luces secured a third Sonics win in the 15 lap Open Race. This event was dominated by Sonics who also took the second and third places through Andy Rawlins and Bevon Luces. The fifth leg of competition pedals off on Saturday, November 8 at 1.30 pm at Skinner Park, San Fernando. And on November 15 Anthony Commissiong Sport and Culture Promotions and South Wheelers Cycling Club will host a race in San Fernando for City Week.

One lap: 1.Sei Daniel (Arima Bike Club), 2.Kristoff Frontin (PL Singh Sonics) and 3.Kasim Walcott (Arima Bike Club).
Two Laps: 1.Sei Daniel, 2.Kristoff Frontin and 3.Kasim Walcott.
7-9 BMX (one lap):
Girls: 1.Anzinga Commissiong (South Hampton) and 2.Azziza Browne  (Arima Bike Club).
7-9 BMX (two laps):
Boys A: 1.Quincy Alexander (Arima Bike Club), 2.Kwesi Browne (Arima Bike Club), Jason Francis (Xterra Boys Couva).
Boys B: 1.Kwesi Browne (Arima Bike Club), 2.Quincy Alexander (Arima Bike Club) and 3.Jason Francis (Xterra Boys Couva).
Girls; 1.Anzinga Commissiong (South Hampton) and 2.Azziza Browne  (Arima Bike Club).

Girls: 1.Taija Frontin (PL Singh Sonics).
