Raid in Central nets 46 with guns, coke, ammo
The fight against crime continued yesterday when officers of the Inter Agency Task Force, the Port-of-Spain CID and officers of Central Division carried out a massive exercise which started at 3 am and ended at noon.
Forty-six persons were arrested, two pistols and ten rounds of ammunition seized, two stolen cars recovered, six kilos of cocaine with a street value of $200,000 seized and a quantity of electrical items and cell phones also seized. A breakdown of the exercise revealed that one person was held for murder, 16 for robberies, six for break-ins, four for rapes, six on outstanding warrants, two for possession of cocaine, six for possession of marijuana, one for larceny of a car, three for firearm and ammunition, and one for larceny.
