Amar goes into housing
The Amar Group of Companies is going into housing. A new housing settlement, labelled Ozone Park, located on Gurahoo Road, Chase Village, Chaguanas, will soon be enhancing the Central landscape by the end of 2004.It is the brainchild of the Amar Group of Companies, with the main architect being Ricky Amar, the CEO of the Housing Project. The entire housing concept is designed to accommodate 46 houses priced between $450,000 to $1.5 million. “From the response that we have been receiving from prospective clients, it seems that much more would be required to satisfy the demand,” said Amar. As far as security is concerned, Ozone Gardens, he said, would be a round the clock gated community “so that those interested in purchasing a house in the area could be assured of peace of mind when they go to bed at night.” With crime being on the front burner now in the country, the Amar Group of Companies is guaranteeing its customers that the areas would be peaceful and that protection from the criminal elements in the society has been given top priority.
Amar said that his company gave serious thought to establishing the project in the central. The Chaguanas Borough was given the nod because it is well known as the fastest growing urban settlement in the Caribbean, offering residents a wealth of conveniences including shopping and commerce, entertainment, and educational facilities, he said. Ozone Gardens is also close to the main arteries of transport to both north and south, Amar said, so that in terms of location, “it is hard to beat this project.” The model that the public saw on Saturday afternoon was designed with the kitchen on the groun floor ground floor, the dining room , the living room, a patio and a garage, while on the top floor are the master bedroom, two other bedrooms, toilet facilities and cupboard space. Blocks used in the building have been imported from Venezuela (the Isotex system) and the strength of the srutructures is capable of withstanding hurricanes, especially frequent in the Caribbean during the rainy months of the year, Amar said. Michael Jobe, Corporate Communicatins manager of the Ministry of Housing, welcomed the housing company’s foray into housing, saying that by becoming a partner Amar could help meet the housing needs of the population. Mayor of Chaguanas, Dr. Suruj Rambachan, welcomed the Ozone Gardens to the Borough and said that the project would enhance the area.
