Manning has most deputies
LAST WEEK’S Cabinet reshuffle left Prime Minister and Finance Minister Patrick Manning with the largest number of junior ministers to help him with his work.
In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Public Administration and Information said acting upon the advice of Prime Minister Patrick Manning, President George Maxwell Richards revoked the assignment of ministerial responsibility of 13 Ministers and administered the Oaths of Office to three new ministers (new Attorney-General John Jeremie and junior ministers Satish Ramroop and Anthony Roberts).
However Manning retained his Finance portfolio along with his three deputies — Ken Valley, Christine Sahadeo and Conrad Enill. New Community Development and Culture Minister Joan Yuille-Williams now has the assistance of two new Ministers of State, Edward Hart and Eulalie James with her increased responsibilities. New Science, Technology and Tertiary Education Minister Colm Imbert has one junior minister in Satish Ramroop while former National Security Parliamentary Secretary, Anthony Roberts, now serves as a junior minister to National Security Minister Martin Joseph and Housing Minister Dr Keith Rowley. Diane Seukeran is now junior minister to Social Development Minister Mustapha Abdul-Hamid. The remaining Cabinet Ministers do not have Ministers of State or Parliamentary Secretaries to assist them with their portfolios.
