RAHAEL DENIES RHA CHANGES

John Rahael, Minister of Health has described as misleading and untrue a story yesterday which stated that he was seeking to reconfigure the RHA Boards.

The Minister made his comment at the opening of the Coryal Outreach Health Centre yesterday.He noted that all the public had to do was read the article to be convinced that the information in the article was misleading and inaccurate. Rahael emphasised that he cannot remember giving anyone instructions to have letters sent to Board Members of the Regional Health Authorities (RHAs) — South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA), North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA) and Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA) to have their members tender their resignation. However, he said “if any of the Board Members of any RHA wishes to offer as a form of courtesy their resignation,” they could so do. Rahael said he did not know where and how the misleading information came from. “I am only three days in office trying to settle down and here comes this negative report. The source is inaccurate, misleading and untrue and is causing much mischief,” he concluded.
