Grandpa shot in Mt Lambert bed

A 56-year-old grandad is currently recuperating at ward 21 of the Port-of-Spain general hospital after being shot and chopped in his bed. According to an official report around 12.45 am Friday, Kent Lewis was asleep at his Fletcher Street, Mt Lambert home when he was awakened by three men, one with a gun and two with cutlasses. One of the men shot Lewis in his left leg, while the other two dealt him two chops to his right shoulder and leg. The injured man screamed, which alerted the neighbours and scared off his attackers. The injured man was rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Science Complex from where he was transferred to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital and where he was warded. PC Peters of the San Juan CID is continuing inquiries.
