Bandits take couple for a ride
A PLEASANTVILLE couple was released unharmed in Central Trinidad, after bandits took them for a ride in the trunks of two stolen cars, during the early morning hours yesterday. According to reports, around 2.45 am Christian Sandy, 27, of Wilson Mahabir Street, Pleasantville and Dawn Trotman, 23, of Circular Road, Pleasantville were seated in Stanley’s grey Sentra B13 car along Circular Drive, Pleasantville. Two men, one of whom was armed with a gun, pulled up in a car alongside Stanley’s parked vehicle and announced a hold-up. The armed bandit placed his gun to Stanley’s head while the other stood at the front passenger door. Both occupants were ordered out of the vehicle and relieved of $3,800 in personal items including cellular phones, cash and jewelry.
The bandits forced Sandy into the trunk of his $40,000 car, while Trotman was shoved into the trunk of the bandits’ car. The victims were then driven to Central Trinidad where around 6 am, they were dropped off at Carlsen Field. The frightened couple reported the incident to the Freeport police and the officers contacted their counterparts at the Mon Repos Police Station, since the incident occurred in that station’s jurisdiction. PCS Dick and Persad are continuing investigations. And in an unrelated incident, officers from the San Fernando CID are investigating the larceny of a Ford Laser car. According to reports, around 10 pm on Saturday, Samuel Partap parked his car at Screamers Club situated off the South Trunk Road. When Partap returned around 3.10 am yesterday, he realised his car was missing. He reported the matter at the San Fernando Police Station. The motor car is valued at $15,000.
