Roddick Runners are Lucozade tennis champs

RODDICK RUNNERS are champions of the Lucozade Sports Team Tennis Champ-ionships.

The new champs got home by a slender four-point margin over Clijsters Crushers in the final at the PSA Tennis Centre, Long Circular Road, St James, last weekend. Crushers held a one-point lead after the 10 singles matches 51-50, with Kacheign de Silva whipping Scott Lancer 6-0 in the 10th game. But in doubles play, The Runners launched a grand comeback, winning four of the five games to clinch an exciting victory. Federer Flames cruised to a 94-67 win over Blake Blasters to take the third place position earlier, winning seven of the 10 singles and only two doubles games.
