NHA’s unusual $20 fee
THE EDITOR: I am very concerned with one of the policies of the National Housing Authority. At present, home-owners who purchased homes from the NHA are required to pay a sum of $20 if they wish to find out what is the balance on their mortgage payments.
I find this highly unusual that one is required to pay for this information, since it should be provided free of charge upon request. Let me say that I had loans at different lending institutions and this request was provided free of charge without the least bit of a problem the very day I requested it. I am asking the Minister of Housing and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs to look into this matter and please make a public statement concerning this matter as soon as possible.
