Ramsaran: PNM controlling Chaguanas URP

CHAGUANAS MP Manohar Ramsaran alleged that PNM officials are in full control of the Chaguanas Unemployment Relief Programme (URP) and are denying work to hundreds of persons who are perceived to be non-PNM supporters. In a statement, Ramsaran said he went to the Chaguanas URP office yesterday to help job seekers register for employment. The UNC MP said he was subsequently informed by these persons that “all the URP gangs were already fully complimented.” According to Ramsaran, the URP coordinators are three top PNM officials from Central Trinidad and have “already hired their friends and relatives.” The UNC MP condemned what he described as  a grave injustice against his constituents and demanded that Local Government Minister Rennie Dumas intervene in this matter.
