Crime does not pay

THE EDITOR: A 33-year-old “bandit” lost a leg in a Barrackpore crash recently and, as fate will have it, in the same maxi taxi which he and his accomplices stole from an unfortunate San Juan driver. Obviously, in due course this bandit is going to be prosecuted accordingly and when his matter reaches the courts, what do you think will happen? Well “poor fellow” he’s not going to have a “leg to stand on”. We hope a lesson is learnt here which is “crime simply does not pay”.
