Super Grey heads the handicap
SUPER GREY has been allotted topweight of 56.5 kilos for the sole handicap race on the Arima Race Club Day 36 card at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, on November 29.
The Douglas Bennett-trained gelding has been asked to carry the top burden against 13 runners in the 1300 metres event framed for West Indian bred three-year-olds and over which have not won three career races. This highly thought of Jamaican-bred will be handing out from 0.5 of a kilo to Celebration Time to 12 kilos to Running Trick at the bottom of the handicap in the extended sprint. Both Super Grey and Celebration Time now hold dual engagements on next Saturday’s card. They are also among the star-studded cast of nine for which final subscriptions were paid for the Caribbean Champion Stakes. Their options to race in the Handicap worth $19,000 or compete in the main event against Top Of The Class, where the six prizes are worth a total of $100,000, will be known on Monday, when declarations of horses, equipment and jockeys are to be made.
