Two 16-year-old girls raped

Police are continuing their probe into two separate rape incidents. According to police sources, around 11 pm on Friday a 16-year-old girl of Phoenix Park, California, walked into the Couva Police Station to report a sexual assault. She told police that around 10 am on November 15 a neighbour entered her house while she was left home alone and forced her to have sexual intercourse with him. The girl was examined by the Couva District Medical Officer (DMO), Doctor Jeelal who confirmed that she has been interfered with sexually. Officers of the Couva Police Station are continuing investigations. In another incident, a Couva man, still on the run, is wanted for the alleged rape of his 16-year-old stepdaughter.

Police said after the girl and the rest of her family returned home on Friday around midday, the teenager and the 48-year old accused left together to buy Chinese food, but instead the man took her to the Reflections Guesthouse on the Southern Main Road where he allegedly raped her. The girl was then taken to the Marabella Police Station by a relative who spotted her coming out of the guesthouse, to make an official report. Marabella Police are continuing investigations.
