$150,000 bail for businessman on arms, ammo charges
A COUVA magistrate yesterday granted $150,000 bail to California businessman Kazim Mohammed, who appeared in court charged with possession of a .320 semi-automatic pistol and 168 rounds ammunition.
Mohammed, 40, who owns an import/export company in California, Central Trinidad, and is a major supplier to Caribbean ISPAT Ltd, appeared before Senior Magistrate Marcia Ayers-Caesar to answer the charges laid by PC Radhay Kissoon of the Couva police. The charges against Mohammed are that around 10 am last Friday, Couva police officers executed a search warrant at the businessman’s home, where the police allegedly found and seized the firearm and ammunition.
