Funeral for car fire victim today

Raeann Diaz, the 16-year-old Caribbean Union College student who died from third degree burns after a car accident, will be buried today following a funeral service at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Arima. The service starts at 3 pm.

Diaz succumbed to the injuries on Wednesday while being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex. Another student, Lisette King, perished in the accident. The two students were travelling in a car driven by King’s father when another car crashed into the rear of the vehicle causing it to burst into flames. Lisette, who was in the back seat of the vehicle, was trapped and burnt to death while her father and Rae-Ann suffered third degree burns. Lisette was buried on Thursday.
