Nine-year-old stabs 12-year-old classmate
SCHOOL violence continued yesterday when a nine-year-old Standard 4 student of Valencia Government Primary school stabbed his 12-year-old classmate. According to reports, the two youths were quarrelling in class when the younger student stabbed his classmate behind the left ear.
The stab made a flesh-wound, and after the victim was treated at the school’s first aid department, he was later taken to the Sangre Grande District Hospital where he was treated and discharged. The police were called in and an investigation was launched. When Newsday spoke to school personnel, they confirmed the incident. The school sources could not say if the stab was from the “paper scissors” the child had or any other object. The school said it will investigate the incident. Meantime, Valencia police are conducting their own investigation. Cpl Moses and Constable Meade are investigating.
