Hooper back with Lancs
LONDON: Former West Indies skipper Carl Hooper will play for Lancashire again in the County Championship next season. The 36-year-old has agreed to a new one-year contract with the Old Trafford club and will resume his partnership with the county’s second overseas star, Stuart Law. Law was the country’s top scorer in 2002 with 1,820 runs at an average of 91, including six centuries while Hooper, who was a late replacement for injured Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh, smashed 1,118 runs at an average of 65. “It will be great to have him back,” skipper Warren Hegg told the Manchester Evening News. “He was brilliant for us on and off the field.”
