Englishwoman held with ‘coke’

A 27-year-old woman of England was arrested on Thursday and 1.44 kilogrammes of cocaine seized during an exercise carried out by officers of the Organised Crime and Narcotics Unit.

Reports revealed that around 5.30 pm, Theresa Sortesy was about to board a flight at Piarco bound for London when officers of the OCNU apprehended the woman. She was taken to the OCNU office where the officers conducted a search of the woman and her luggage. Several tubes containing cocaine were found in her luggage and the woman was formally charged for the offence. She will appear before an Arima magistrate on Monday.
