Westmoorings woman died from one gunshot wound

An autopsy carried out on the body of murdered Scotiabank retiree Annette Farah revealed that death was due to shock and haemorrhage consistent with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Investigators believe the person who shot and killed Farah knew that she would be seated on a bench in her front yard on Saturday. They also believe that the robbery was planned. A cutlass found a short distance away from the murder scene was unsucessfully checked for fingerprints. Several homes in Debe, Petit Valley and Carenage were searched yesterday in a bid to apprehend suspects.

They described the shooting death as being robbery related. Relatives of the victim yesterday called on anyone with information on the suspects in the murder to contact the police. Relatives reiterated that the crime situation in the country has reached a crisis state. Farah was shot dead on Saturday night shortly after being robbed by a gunman who scaled the short fence leading to her home. The murder was witnessed by one brother and sisters of the deceased.
