Another guard robbed of firearm

LESS than 24 hours after an Amalgamated Security officer was robbed of her firearm and ammunition at Coca-Cola Caribbean Trinidad Ltd, another guard has been robbed in similar fashion.

Around 1.30 pm yesterday, Gabriel Leoteo, 31, of Penal Rock Road, Moruga, a security officer with Innovative Security Consultants, was robbed of his Smith and Wesson .38 revolver, which contained six rounds of live ammunition. According to investigations, Leoteo was standing guard inside BNK Grocery, Upper El Dorado Road, Tunapuna, protecting the salesman and loader of Associated Brands Ltd when two armed men walked up to him and demanded his firearm. After relieving him of the gun, the men ran east along College Road and turned south on to Henry Road where they disappeared. Police responded and combed the area without success. Ag Cpl Hiley and WPC Cumberbatch visited the scene and are probing the incident.
