Meeting at Port Authority today
Effective December 12, a new United States Customs regulations will be enforced requiring that all food imported into the US be registered with the US Food and Drug Administration.
As a result, the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (PATT) will host a special meeting at 1 pm today in the Authority’s Conference Room, first floor, Administration Building, to apprise stakeholders of the implications of the new legislation on the manufacturing, transport and logistic industries in TT. Enrique Archibald, US Customs enforcement advisor, will address the audience and the local Comptroller of Customs will give a brief presentation on the impact of the Act. A representative of Namdevco (National Agriculture Market Development Corpora-tion), the company with responsibility for all agricultural exports to the US will also deliver a presentation.
