Businessman detained for shooting bar patron
A 29-year-old Princes Town businessman was detained by police after he shot a 25-year-old man following an altercation yesterday morning.
The injured man, Peter Duncan, of Borde Narve, was shot on his right leg and is said to be in a satisfactory condition at the San Fernando General Hospital. Up to late yesterday investigators had not yet found the gun, which is believed to be unlicensed. According to police reports, around 2.15 am, the businessman was at a recreation club at Bonanza Street, Princes Town, when he had an altercation with the other man. Duncan allegedly struck the businessman on his face with a piece of wood, resulting in him sustaining a deep cut. The businessman reportedly pulled out a gun and fired a shot at Duncan, hitting him on his foot. Duncan then ran a short distance before collapsing. He was rushed to the hospital via an EHS ambulance where he was treated and warded. Princes Town Police are continuing investigations.
