Renee cops Miss Caraibes Hibiscus
RENEE Sloane Seale was crowned Miss Caraibes Hibiscus last evening in St Martin where she competed against 30 other delegates to cop the top prize.
Miss Anguilla was first runner-up and Miss Peru second runner-up. Renee also won Best Gown wearing a Peter Elias and Jean Ramjohn creation and Best National Wear, which was created by Meiling. The pageant is in its 13th year and attracted contestants from over 40 countries from the region to participate. Past winners include Puerto Rico, Colombia, Panama, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. The primary objective of Miss Caraibes is to build closer ties among the Caribbean and South and Central America. The prize package includes US$5,000 in cash, jewelry, a crystal crown and various appearances in Paris, Martinique and Guadeloupe. The Miss Caraibes Hibiscus pageant is considered a very important stepping stone towards entering the Miss Universe pageant.
