Suspect in Westmoorings murder released
The 25-year-old Carenage suspect who was detained in connection with the murder of retired Scotiabank employee Annette Farah was released on Saturday after an identification parade at the Port-of-Spain CID.
The man was not pointed out during the parade. Investigators told Newsday they are working on several other leads in a bid to apprehend the killers. Police have obtained two sketches of the suspects which were distributed to all police stations. The sketches were matched against pictures of persons who have already been charged for other offences. Farah, 57, was sitting in the yard of her home around 11 pm last Saturday when she was approached by a gunman who robbed her of jewelry and shot her in the neck. The killer then ran north along Stuart Road, Westmoorings, and flagged down a passing car. Police officers who were summoned to the scene found a cutlass believed to have been used by the killer’s accomplice.
