Let’s say a prayer for Michael
THE EDITOR: It was so sad to hear about Michael Jackson. I remember him and the Jackson Five coming to Trinidad in the 70s and seeing them at the Maracas Bay lookout and me saying: Wow! That’s the Jackson Five! I am four years older than Michael but I grew up with his music. He is such a great talented person.
The Jackson family is so talented but they have a lot of baggage which I think stems from their parental upbringing. It just goes to show that money and wealth are not as important as the love and concern of your parents and family members. One of Michael’s songs was “Someday in your life” which I think was one of his classics and I think is pertinent now in his trying times: It goes:
‘Someday in your life,
You’ll remember a place,
Someone touching your face,
You’ll come back
And look around you...
One day in your life,
You’ll remember the love — you found me,
Though you don’t need me now,
I will stay in your heart
And when things fall apart
You’ll remember...’
Let’s all say a prayer for Michael
