MPs in Monroe Road Over-40s cricket side

MUNROE ROAD Cricket Club will launch their 2003/2004 season with two matches at the weekend.

First, the Munroe Road Over-40 cricketers will take on a Touring Customs XI from noon on Saturday at their Cunupia ground. And on Sunday, the club will play a farewell match for Under-19 star Manoj Sirju who leaves for India on December 21 as a member of the Sir Gary Sobers team. At the helm of the Munroe Road Over-40s will be Member of Parliament for Chaguanas, Manohar Ramsaran, while young Sirju will lead the team on Sunday with Parasram Ramsubhag as manager.

Included in the Over-40s squad are Chatka Ramathal, Gopaul Nanan, Ramesh Singh, Ganga Singh, Narvin Ramlogan, Shodan Ramadan, Michael Johnity, Teddy Ramnarine, Ganesh Maraj, Sookdeo Rambharack, Boyle Hanooman, Steve Nicholson, Fred Watson, Siew Ramoutar, Eric Ramsaran, Narsingh Rambaran. Customs will have in their line-up ex-national players Richard Sieuchand and Deonarine Deyal, along with  Peter Mohammed, Adjodha Persad, Preman Sooknanan, Suruj Deonarine, Ramesar Rajnath, Shodan Mahabir, Hafeez Mohammed, Glen Singh, Cecil Ramlogan, Russell Deochand and Prakash Samaroo.
