Gosine on course for Pot Black

NARINE GOSINE of the San Juan is on course to retain his title in the annual Mabel sponsored Pot Black Billiards tournament organised by the Chinese Association. But first Gosine has to get past a determined Mervyn Aqui in the feature semi-final on Monday night at the St Ann’s venue. In the other semi-final John Achong meets Kerwin Quan Chan for a place in the championship final on Wednesday.

On that night a special presentation will be made to Alvin Daniel, a Petrotrin player who has been undergoing rehabilitation after being paralysed through illness. Aqui said that sponsors of the tournament, Mable, as well as others who have been assisting have come together to present Daniel with hampers to help him through this difficult period. A cash donation will also be presented. Matches get underway tomorrow at 7 pm.
