Blatter postpones trip to Martinique
FIFA president Joseph Sepp Blatter has postponed his trip to Martinique, Dominica and St. Lucia owning to ill health. This was revealed in a press release from the office of CONCACAF yesterday. It stated that Blatter will miss the Congress of Caribbean Football Union in Martinique on December 30, as well as visits to the Goal Project in Dominica and St Lucia. Replacing the president will be former France star midfielder Michel Platini who is the chairman of FIFA Technical Committee and a member of the FIFA Executive Committee. The release further stated that Blatter has had to cancel his intended trip to Iran and is unable to be present at the FIFA World Under-20 Youth Cup final in the United Arab Emirates tomorrow. He has however promised to undertake these visits as soon as his health improves.
