Baliffs say thanks
THE EDITOR: Kindly allow me space in your newspaper to compliment the hard working staff of the Attorney General’s Department for the wonderful job the department is doing under the stewardship of Mr Samraj Harripaul and the other junior counsels who on Thursday December 11, 2003 at 9.39 am had a briefing and lecture to all bailiffs throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
This seminar was based on the Bailiff Act of 2000, which Mr Harripaul and his staff spent a lot of time to explain to bailiffs the function and duty as well as the Right to Levy for rent and the Clause to Repossess. However it would be wise to also give some lectures to some of the nation’s judicial officers, so that some of them can also understand the law in reacting to the function of bailiffs and the court system here in Trinidad and Tobago. The reason for my plea is because while bailiffs know of the duty and functions some of the officers in the court and even lawyers don’t know. So I am humbly asking Mr Samraj Harripaul to give them a tip or two about this aspect of law because he is very knowledgeable in this area of law. Thank you once again for the wonderful lecture you and your staff have given and I look forward to seeing you at the next lecture next year.
