39-day ARC 2004 season

THERE will be 39 days of racing at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, next Arima Race Club 2004 season.

According to information from the ARC, starting New Year’s Day, Thursday, there will be three racing days in January. And there will be further three-day programmes in the following months up to December 27, 2004 (Boxing Day). Apart from New Year’s Day and Boxing Day, there will be racing on eight public holidays including Easter Monday, April 12; Arrival Day, May 31; Labour Day, June 19; Emancipation Day, August 2; Independence Day, August 31 and Republic Day, September 24. As usual, there will be no racing on Carnival Monday and Tuesday, and 24 Saturdays will be devoid of racing programmes  2004.

The Saturdays of January 3, 10 and 24; February 14 and 21; March 20; April 10, 17 and 24; May 8, 22 and 29; June 12; July 17 and 31; August 7 and 28; September 4 and 25; October 9 and 23; November 20 and December 18 and 25. The New Year’s Day programme 10-race programme will have as its feature, the $75,000 Sian’s Gold Sprint Handicap, a Grade Two race over 1100 metres on the turf course. There will also be co-features in the Caribbean Turf Championship for West Indies-bred three-year-olds and over, worth $50,000 over 1800 metres also on the turf, and another turf event over 1100 metres for West Indies-bred three-year-olds over 1100 metres also worth $50,000, the First Classic.
