We must pray for our nation
THE EDITOR: With only a couple of days left before we say farewell to 2003, I would like to remind my fellow citizens that Trinidad and Tobago is still our country. I know many people are concerned about the alarming crime rate, frequent kidnappings and the spiralling murders, which now stand at a record-breaking 200 plus, but I would like to assure you, our Lord Jesus Christ is still in control. If we compare our crime problems with other countries such as Iraq and Israel, we would realise that the crisis we are presently facing is not that bad. Please do not misjudge me, as I also believe the crime situation is out of control, but due to my unwavering faith in God, I vehemently believe we can overcome these adversaries. The Bible clearly states in Matthew 18:19, “That if two of you shall agree on earth touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven”.
Therefore, I urge you my fellow brothers and sisters, to find someone or even form a group and begin to pray and trust God for a miraculous work to be done in Trinidad and Tobago. Pray for the criminals, murderers, kidnappers, drug dealers, and reckless drivers and also pray for one another, as we all need prayer. So as I close, I would like to wish each and everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, along with God’s blessings and prosperity for their life. Be encouraged.
