Drivers are cause of road mishaps

THE EDITOR: It is only the experienced motor vehicle driver would know the unexpected things that causes some road accidents. However, the cars or trucks regardless of their condition are not responsible for the accidents on the road. It is we the drivers who are the main causes of the carnage on the roads.

It is neither alcohol or cellular phones responsible for road deaths. The Commissioner of Transport can do nothing to curb the accidents. Since we are dealing with the human mind, what we need is the intervention of the church, education and the media to “brainwash” us constantly with the road traffic regulations, so that doing the correct thing on our roads would be “second nature” to us. Safe driving to all, all the time.
